Stone Strong® Thru Pile Bridge Abutments combine the speed and efficiency of precast concrete construction with the structural performance of deep foundation systems. Designed specifically for bridge applications, the system allows piles to be installed directly through specially engineered Stone Strong blocks, creating a highly efficient alternative to traditional cast-in-place abutments.

How Thru Pile Technology Works
Stone Strong Wide Web and Max Web blocks are manufactured with enlarged internal voids that allow foundation elements to pass directly through the retaining wall structure.
These voids can accommodate:
- Bored piles up to 1500mm diameter
- Steel casings up to 760mm outside diameter
- Large steel H-piles exceeding 400UC 232 sections
- Specialist deep foundation systems where ground conditions require enhanced support
