Stone Strong was originally developed as a gravity retaining wall system, utilising the mass of large precast concrete blocks to resist earth pressures without the need for reinforcement.

The system is based around the core 24SF (Square Foot) block, providing a face area of approximately 2.24m² per unit. Standard block widths of 1.1m, 1.6m, and 2.2m allow designs to be optimised for varying wall heights and loading conditions.

Mechanically Stabilised Earth (MSE) Walls

For taller walls or projects requiring increased structural capacity, Stone Strong can be configured as a Mechanically Stabilised Earth (MSE) retaining wall system.

MSE designs utilise the 24SF 1.1m-wide block, modified to accommodate a range of reinforcement solutions, including:

  • Geogrids
  • ParaWeb® straps
  • Steel strips
  • Steel mesh systems
  • Other approved geosynthetic reinforcements
