Stone Strong® tiered retaining systems provide a practical solution for stabilising slopes, embankments, and challenging level changes where a single tall wall may not be the most efficient or suitable option. By breaking retained height into a series of stepped walls, Stone Strong can reduce structural demand, improve buildability, and create a more natural integration with the surrounding landform.

Tiered walls are particularly useful for road and rail embankments, subdivision platforms, bridge approaches, commercial sites, and areas where space, ground conditions, access, or visual impact need careful consideration. The large-format precast blocks allow fast installation, consistent alignment, and strong gravity performance, while also offering flexibility for curved, straight, stepped, and staged construction.

For higher slopes or increased surcharge conditions, Stone Strong tiered systems can be combined with MSE reinforcement, ParaWeb, geogrid, steel strip, or other engineered reinforcement solutions. This allows each wall tier to be designed according to height, loading, soil conditions, and project constraints.
